William Peace University Names Tanya Scarborough Administrative Assistant/Guest Coordinator
RALEIGH, N.C. – William Peace University, a private four-year university located in downtown Raleigh, has announced that Tanya Scarborough has joined the university as an administrative assistant and guest coordinator for the admissions office. In her position, she will serve as the liaison and primary contact between admissions and other university departments, as well as plan, coordinate, budget and manage admissions events. She will support the university’s student recruiting process by coordinating all campus visits, tour requests and related efforts with admissions staff, athletic coaches, faculty and other personnel. Scarborough previously worked in the admissions office at Long Island University in Brooklyn, N.Y., before assuming her position at William Peace University.
“I love being around students and helping them become acclimated to campus life,” said Scarborough. “William Peace University has ambitious expansion plans that I am ready to help achieve, and as I am accustomed to working in a fast-paced environment and dealing with last minute situations, this is an ideal position for me. I look forward to helping incoming students feel comfortable and welcome as they enter our university.”
“Tanya has the background, organization skills and enthusiasm we need for someone who will be working extensively with many of our employees as well as with current and prospective students,” said Debra M. Townsley, Ph.D., president of William Peace University. “She is a crucial addition to our admissions office as we continue to expand our student body and academic and athletic offerings in 2012.”
