Council For Entrepreneurial Development To Host August STREAK Seminar

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. – Joan Siefert Rose, president of the Council for Entrepreneurial Development (CED) (www.cednc.org), a private, nonprofit organization that promotes entrepreneurial efforts in the Triangle region of North Carolina, has announced the next installment of its popular STREAK program, to be held Thursday, Aug. 13.  STREAK is designed to assist early-stage, high-growth life sciences and technology companies in preparing for and reaching fundraising goals through the critique of pitch presentations by a seasoned panel of investors, entrepreneurs and marketing experts.

Presenting will be Scott Nowokunski, CEO of Beanstalk Data, Inc. (www.beanstalkdata.com), a Charlotte marketing automation company that develops, sells and employs proprietary software to automate clients’ marketing output; and Loren Harrell, CEO of MemberHub (www.memberhub.com), a Raleigh-based company that provides a centralized place for member-driven organizations such as churches, nonprofits and associations to enhance communication and connect with their members in secure online hubs.  Panelists include Glen Caplan of Hutchison Law Group; Lister Delgado of NC IDEA; Brooks Malone of Hughes Pittman & Gupton, LLP; Mike Munsch, former CED and TriState Investment Group (TIG) chairman; Tom Roberts of Harbert Management Corp.; and Teresa Spangler of PlazaBridge.

One of CED’s most popular and valuable offerings, STREAK provides members the opportunity to submit their business plan and investor pitch for consideration to present before a custom-built expert panel.  The panelists are hand-picked to address the specific needs of each company by providing feedback on strategy, business advice, funding options and additional relevant contacts.  STREAK is sponsored by Hutchison Law Group and Hughes Pittman & Gupton, LLP.

STREAK is a closed-door session opportunity that is only available to CED members and takes place on the second Thursday afternoon of each month.  Of the 12 companies selected to present before the panels, CED will select the most notable presenters to showcase at a January event.  For details on entry criteria and the application process, CED members should e-mail their business plan and other relevant information to program coordinators Bob Pickens at bpickens@cednc.org or Dhruv Patel at dpatel@cednc.org.
