Why I Joined MMI
by Robert Buhler on 06/13/2012
As the new president of MMI Public Relations, I am happy to be here, working alongside Patty Briguglio, who remains as CEO of the company she created, and the rest of our energetic staff. It is a pleasure to be part of this outstanding organization.
You may wonder what attracted me to join this firm beyond what is listed about me in my bio. The answer consists of five main reasons:
1) I wanted to return to public relations.
Public relations is my passion. I studied it as part of my educational background, and I worked in it after graduating college when I was in Washington, D.C., assisting former congressmen to help build and create a large national health-related association. Taking the time to reflect on what I wanted to do with rest of my life, I realized PR was my true calling and that I should come back to the industry.
2) MMI Public Relations was my prime choice after careful research.
I investigated many PR firms in the area, knowing that I wanted one with a strong ethical approach. MMI excelled in this regard. It tolerates no lying or cheating, and its clients have an excellent reputation with the general public. Most importantly, MMI has established a core set of values that its staff believes and endorses, and it is reflected in the way that they conduct business.
3) MMI is on a trajectory to grow and expand.
It was exciting to see all of the new clients come in recently that have grown our office considerably over the last year and realize the potential we have in the future. I can see what possibilities MMI offers, and I want to be a part of that future.
4) The people at MMI impress me.
The employees are dedicated to their craft, and they are kind and intelligent as well. You can tell that they want to be working here. That is the atmosphere I want to keep in place.
5) I love the Research Triangle region.
This is an awesome place to work and live. My wife, Katharine, who has joined MMI as well to serve as its new financial manager, and I want to put our roots down in this community. This opportunity was simply too good for us to pass up.
I look forward to talking with you more in the future, not just through this blog but out in the community in activities and events as well. MMI is a place where I take pride in working, and I want to let everyone know why and how they can be a part of this great enterprise.
