We No Longer Search The News, The News Finds Us

Last year the Social Media Revolution video made its debut and has since had almost 2 million views on You Tube.  The video delivered some very interesting facts and statistics on social media, proving that it isn’t a fad – it’s a fundamental shift in the way we communicate. This month the Social Media Revolution 2 video has made its debut on You Tube, and it has conveyed some even more fascinating statistics.  Ryal shared some of these statistics in one of his recent blogs.

I’m a reader of Socialnomics(TM), a blog designed to cover the latest trends in social media.  It primarily focuses on covering the latest news on social media.

I also highly recommend the book, Socialnomics, for anyone who wants to understand the implications of social media, and how businesses can tap the power of social media to increase their sales, cut their marketing costs, and reach consumers directly.

For those of you who you suffer from social media “check-in fatigue” – and really, don’t we all? – and you have an iPad, iPhone or Android phone, my co-worker, Jake, recommends Check.in, which is a cool new location-based SM aggregator (currently only for iPhone/iPad geeks – you guys get all the cool bells and whistles). This aggregator sends your check-ins across multiple platforms.

It’s hard to remember what my life was like before social media (B.S.M. should become a new acronym).  Still think social media is a fad?
