Is Nestle’s New PR Campaign for the Dogs?

A new public relations strategy by Nestlé targets an unexpected audience – dogs.

The company has released the first TV commercial designed for canines, employing a high-frequency tone which humans can barely hear, as well as an audible “squeak” like the sound pet toys make and a high-pitched “ping” to grab their attention. It is only airing in Germany and Austria to promote Nestlé’s Beneful dog food brand, but it may expand elsewhere in the future.
