I haven’t always had the best luck with airline travel. I’ve had airlines go bankrupt and then my rescheduled connecting flights leave before I even arrive at that destination. Sometimes my luggage gets lost and shows up on the day I go home. And other times my flights get canceled for no reasons that are ever explained to me. So when I booked my plane ticket to Europe about a month ago and discovered that I would have to take both United Airlines and Scandinavian Airlines, I was a little concerned. Imagine running 4 miles in downtown Raleigh on a cold February morning. Then think about stopping halfway through the race and eating a dozen Krispy Kreme doughnuts as fast as you can. And picture about 6,000 people doing this with you. All in less than an hour.
Clearly this race cannot be good for your digestive system. But somehow the Krispy Kreme Challenge has become a favorite race among Triangle residents. It’s a physical challenge for a good cause – all money raised benefits the North Carolina Children’s Hospital.

A recent case in Arkansas has just been appealed due to the fact that a member of the jury was tweeting before, during and after the trial. His tweets demonstrated bias, and also broke the basis rules of jury duty when he shared with the world that he “just gave away $12 million of somebody else’s money.” Stoam Holdings, the company which lost the money and is appealing, is trying to convince the judge that this juror, Johnathan Powell showed obvious bias.
